The Miami-Illinois language was a Native American language formerly spoken in the United States, primarily in Illinois and adjacent areas along the Mississippi River by several tribes and subtribes, among them the Illinois, Miami, Kaskaskia, Peoria, Wea, and Tamaroa. Later, its speakers were forcibly removed from that state, eventually settling in northeastern Oklahoma. The language was extensively documented in written materials for over 200 years.
